Suspect descriptions, car photo released in ‘barbaric’ attack outside east end mosque Toronto police have released surveillance photos and suspect descriptions of two men wanted in a violent attack outside a mosque in the city’s east end last month.Investigators say the assault occurred around 7:50 p.m. on May 10 at Baitul Aman Masjid near Victoria Park and Danforth Avenues. Surveillance footage from the mosque’s security camera shows a man walk into the parking lot carrying bags. He is quickly approached by two suspects, one of whom is holding what appeared to be a baseball bat.The suspects start to to attack the man, swinging the bat at him and then stomping him repeatedly once he falls to the ground. A grey sedan pulls up during the ongoing attack and the two suspects get inside the vehicle as it drives off. Police say the man was treated for non-life threatening injuries. 4 people shot during funeral procession in Oak Park OAK PARK, Ill. -- Four people were shot during a funeral procession Saturday in Oak Park, according to police.The shooting happened in the 900 block of Madison Street. Lansing police arrest man for kidnapping after allegedly stealing car left on with 2 kids inside Police said the four people were shot in what is believed to be a targeted shooting amongst members of the procession. No bystanders were injured.The conditions and identities of the people involved haven't been released.Madison Street is closed in the area due to the investigation.Additional details haven't been released at this time.

Texas Parks and Wildlife to use eminent domain for Fairfield Lake State Park site AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is petitioning to condemn Fairfield Lake State Park and Fairfield Lake to keep the state park open to the public. TPWD will use eminent domain to condemn the about 5,000-acre property. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission voted to authorize TPWD to condemn the land at a Saturday special meeting. From state park to private development: The twisting timeline of Fairfield Lake "Today’s action comes after TPWD and its commissioners have taken persistent and extraordinary steps to acquire and preserve the park under more amicable terms," a TPWD release said. The state park closed to the public June 3, and TPWD's lease for the state park ends June 13. The state park, located between Houston and Dallas in Freestone County, opened in 1976 with about 1,821 acres. A coal plant, operated by Vistra, closed in 2018. The St. Louis Cardinals have extended alcohol sales to the end of the eighth inning. According to The Athletic's Katie Woo, the extended sales began Friday evening.
